Alright, well, these first few days of teaching class have been pretty good. I can't say great, but of course they have just started and will get better with time. I really enjoy the classes with the older women, which is most of the classes actually. They are so cute and all excited to speak English and they love to talk so it's pretty easy for me. Mostly I'll be going over pronunciation an teaching common English phrases and such.
The one class I had with nine boys was a little rough. Six of them were about eight or nine years old and three were preschool age, maybe two/three or four. I didn't necessarily have a plan when I went in. I have a hard time being prepared when I don't know what to expect. So now that I know, I can definitely make plans to make the class fun and interesting for them. The challenge for me is wanting to be able to explain in Japanese what I'm saying (not that I really can cause I don't know much), but what they need and what the mother's even want is for me to just speak English, no Japanese at all. They just want them to hear the native speech of English to pick up as children so easily do.
SO, this week is a pretty rough trial week. It can only get better from here.
